Waterstorm 1.0.5 Released – Bots

A few days ago we unlocked Waterstorm 1.0.5, now featuring the very first version of bots. If you already have a Waterstorm installation, just launch the game and the Rarebyte Auto Updater (RAU) will automatically update to the latest version.

We’ve set up two gameservers that provide bot matches. Note that the bots in this release will work with DeathMatch only. Support for other game modes is on the way. The voting system of the game (just use the vote option in the main menu that is available when you are connected to a gameserver) now supports the bots as well. Bots can be added by using the add bot option and kicked like any other human player by using the kick player option.

iPentris

As I promised in the 2008 review, here are the details on our Tetris-style game iPentris. We finally launched a website for the game as well, featuring a full highscore list.

If you are a devblog reader, you might know this game concept from the Rarebyte Classics jPentris. So iPentris is basically an enhanced version of it, for your iPhone or iPod touch. The controls of the game are pretty simple, as you are able to drag and rotate the blocks just by touching the display. To improve the gameplay, we also added a shadow block that shows you where your block is going if you drop it.

White Mouse

We’ve been working on some iPhone/iPod touch stuff recently, and we are proud to announce that White Mouse is already available in the AppStore.

White Mouse is a simple puzzle game where you have to prevent the mouse from fleeing off the playground by placing an evil kitty pawâ„¢ each turn. The less steps, the better.

Our testers’ highscore was 8 steps – what’s yours? ;)

Waterstorm – Official Announcement

Austrian based independent game developer Rarebyte announces Waterstorm, a fast paced 2D submarine multiplayer action shooter. Featuring amazing underwater scenarios, intuitive controls and high-tech weapons, Waterstorm invites gamers to participate in subaqueous battles.

Players from all over the world can join different game modes such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and the newly introduced Drone Match. Gamers choose from a variety of mini-submarines, use their tactical as well as team skills and compete for the top ranks in a sophisticated ranking system.
