I’m currently reading The Ultimate Hitchhiker’s Guide by Douglas Adams and found the following fact interesting: It is mentioned that dolphins are very intelligent creatures and that they are superior to human beings. This is also mentioned in Illuminatus! by Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea, which I’ve read a few weeks ago. Now to the conspiracy part of the story: Is it pure coincidence or synchronicity that you can find it in chapter 23 of the Hitchhiker’s Guide and that this chapter consists of 23 lines?
does it say why dolphins are superior too?
In the Hitchhiker’s Guide it states “…on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much – the wheel, New York, wars and so on – while all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man – for precisely the same reasons.”
This doesn’t really explain anything, but I’m not done with the book, so it might come up with a better explanation later…
hehe.. and on the last page there is a big bold *BLA* :)
lol…maybe ;) anyway, I think this is one of the funniest books I’ve ever read…
chapter 23 of my book consists of 31 lines (that must be some bulgarian conspiracy then hehe), and yes, all the explanations and answers are at the end of the book ;)
hmm, maybe I’ve to check back in the bulgarian version of Illuminatus, too ;) btw, I’m pretty sure that it’s no coincidence that you posted that comment on the 23rd…
ah lol.. yes right, by no coincidence i waited till 23rd, 23:23 (bg time) and i’m even 23 !
welcome back, paranoia. but maybe I should ask Howard the dolphin for clarification…
am i the only one here who hasn’t read this book and feels perfectly save? :)
